Benny Mackney

Benny Mackney

     Nationality: Australian

     Current Residence: Canberra, Aus

Started Playing: Early 2011 (fresh to the game, not gonna lie)

Musical Style: High energy, lots of bass

Current Setup: Traktor Pro 2, Traktor Kontrol S4 and Korg nanoPAD for extra effects

Fantasy Mix Train Line Up: Flux Pavilion, Rusko, Doctor P, Feed Me, Zedd and Porter Robinson. Maybe not in that order, I haven’t seen enough to decide properly on that. (Can someone get them to do an under-18 show in Canberra? Please?)

Benny’s Current Top 5:

  • Klaypex – ‘Lights’
  • Haunter – ‘At The Gates’
  • Mord Fustang – ‘Super Meat Freeze’
  • Mord Fustang – ‘Magic Trooper’
  • Cookie Monsta – ‘Blurgh!’

Benny’s All Time Top 5:

  • Skrillex – ‘Needed Change'(feat. 12th Planet)
  • Noisia, Foreign Beggars – ‘Shellshock’
  • Feed Me – ‘Grand Theft Ecstasy’
  • Doctor P – ‘Tetris’
  • The whole Portal 2 soundtrack (Songs to Test By, Vol. 1 & 2), not that I ever mix with it, I just love listening to it when I’m doing stuff unrelated to music.

Most overrated tune of all time: Skrillex – ‘Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites’. Not saying it’s a bad tune, I like it, I just think Skrillex has done better stuff and people are still obsessed with “SMNS”.

Most underrated tune of all time: Funkystepz, Lily McKenzie – ‘For U’ (Dodge & Fuski Remix)

5 words to sum up your DJ career: Career? I wish it was.

Last words for the readers? Help, I’ve fallen into a flood of wanna-be DJs and I can’t get up!
